Most people expect a transport quote to demand a form as long as an insurance policy. Ours asks for five things, and none of them require you to look anything up.
This article says exactly what those five are, why each one matters, what is optional and worth adding anyway, and what happens to your request once it reaches us.
Five things are enough
- The service — enclosed or open transport. Enclosed means a closed truck, out of sight and weather; open means a car carrier. If you hesitate, say what the car is and we will tell you which one it deserves.
- Where it leaves from — a city is enough at this stage. Home, workshop, dealership, auction house: we collect where the car stands.
- Where it goes — same thing. Any point of Europe to any other; the exact address comes later.
- When — a date, or simply a month. See below: vagueness is allowed here, and it is not a courtesy.
- The vehicle — make and model. That is what lets us know how it loads, what it weighs and how much room it takes.
That is the whole of it. With those five, your request is complete and can be priced.
What is optional — and why give it anyway
Everything below is genuinely optional. Each one removes a phone call, which is the only reason we ask.
- Low ground clearance — it changes the ramp and sometimes the truck. Worth a click if the car scrapes on a speed bump.
- The car does not run — no problem, and no surprise either: a non-running vehicle is winched, and we need to know before the crew leaves, not on arrival.
- Oversized — a wide, long or tall vehicle, or one with fixed aerodynamic parts.
- Plate or chassis number — useful for the insurance file, never required to get a price.
- Gearbox and fuel — they matter for manoeuvring on and off the truck.
- A free note — a starting procedure, a tie-down point to avoid, a gate too narrow for a truck. Anything that has no field of its own goes here.
Never invent one of these. An empty field costs you one question from us. A wrong one costs a crew arriving with the wrong equipment.
A date can stay vague
You can give a precise day, or just a month. Both are accepted, and the second is not a fallback — it is how most transports actually begin. A car bought at auction that has not been released yet, a restoration ending "sometime in spring", a move whose date depends on someone else: in all three, a firm date would be invented, and an invented date is worse than an approximate one.

What happens to your request
It is read by someone who plans transports, not by a call centre. You receive a firm proposal in less than 24 working hours: pick-up window, protection, insurance and timing included, so that there is nothing left to discover afterwards.

Asking commits you to nothing. A quote is a proposal; it becomes a transport only when you say so.
Storage and events follow another path
Secure storage and event support are not transport, and they are not prepared the same way — there are no two addresses and no date to give. Tell us what you need and we will come back to you to frame the details.
Preparing your request with an AI assistant
If you use ChatGPT, Claude or a similar assistant, you can describe your transport in one sentence and ask it to prepare the request. It builds a link that opens our form already filled in; you read it over, complete what is missing and send it yourself.
Two things it will never do, by design. It will never ask you for your name, email or phone — those are typed by you, on our form, and never pass through the assistant. And it will never quote a price: we publish no rates, so any figure an assistant produces would be invented. The technical contract it follows is public, at /quote-contract.json.
If it does not know something, it is meant to leave the field empty rather than guess — the form will ask you, with the right words, in the right place. You can of course fill it in yourself, which takes about as long.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the vehicle's papers to request a transport?
Not to get a quote. Within the European Union a vehicle moves freely and there is no paperwork on your side. For the United Kingdom or Switzerland, customs formalities are built into the preparation of the transport, and we tell you which documents to keep at hand.
Can you transport a car that does not start?
Yes. A non-running vehicle is winched aboard. Tell us before departure rather than on the day: it decides which truck and which equipment leave for you.
What if I do not know the date yet?
Give the month. A month is a valid answer in our form, not a placeholder — it is enough to plan around the round that serves your route, and you confirm the day later.
What should I do to the car before collection?
Very little: a low fuel level, the alarm deactivated, personal belongings removed. Tell us about the particulars — ground clearance, starting procedure, tie-down points — and we handle the rest.
Does requesting a quote commit me to anything?
No. A quote is a proposal. It becomes a transport only when you confirm it, and you are free to leave it there.
Can an AI assistant send the request for me?
No, and that is deliberate. An assistant can prepare the request and hand you a pre-filled link, but only you can send it — it never collects your personal details and never quotes a price.
